چکیده

© 2011 ETRI Journal, Volume 33, Number 3, June 2011 With the introduction of the new generation RFID technology, EPCglobal Class-1 Generation-2, there is considerable interest in improving the performance of the framed slotted Aloha (FSA)-based tag collision arbitration protocol. We suggest a novel time-optimal anti-collision algorithm for the FSA protocol. Our performance evaluation demonstrates that our algorithm outperforms other tag collision arbitration schemes.

A Improved Frame Slotted Aloha Protocol with Early End in Mobile RFID Systems

Frame slotted ALOHA (FSA) protocol is a classic tag anti-collision protocol. Similar to most existing anti-collision protocols, The FSA initially aims at tag identification of static scenarios, that is, all tags keep still during the tag identification process. However, in many real scenarios, tags generally move along a fixed path in the reader coverage area, that is, tags stay the coverage ar...

On the optimal frame-length configuration on real passive RFID systems

The majority of the anti-collision protocols proposed for passive RFID systems are based on Frame Slotted Aloha (FSA). They assume a classical result in FSA-based protocols which states that the theoretical identification throughput is optimized when the number of competing tags in coverage equals the number of slots in the frame. However, this is not exact in real RFID systems, as the so-calle...

افزایش سرعت شناسایی در سیستم‌های RFID

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a new generation of automatic identification systems, based on wireless communication technology. In these systems all the tags using one communication channel to communicate with the reader. When two or more tags transmit their data to the reader simultaneously, their transmitted signals will collide. Resolving this collision has a direct impact on the ...

Precise Time System Efficiency of a Frame Slotted Aloha based Anti-Collision Algorithm in a RFID System

The tag identification efficiency of a reader in an RFID system with Frame Slotted Aloha (FSA) based Anti-Collision Algorithm (ACA) can be maximized by selecting the optimal frame length with respect to the number of interrogating tags. Conventional analytical models that have been used widely to derive such an optimal frame length are inaccurate because they lack either precise characterizatio...

An Adaptive RFID Anti-Collision Algorithm Based on Dynamic Framed ALOHA

The collision of ID signals from a large number of colocated passive RFID tags is a serious problem; to realize a practical RFID systems we need an effective anti-collision algorithm. This letter presents an adaptive algorithm to minimize the total time slots and the number of rounds required for identifying the tags within the RFID reader’s interrogation zone. The proposed algorithm is based o...
